You will noitce the weather map of Granada shows more extremes in temperature. In comparison to Almeria, it is much colder in winter and warmer in summer. Las Alpujarras is a few degrees cooler than Almeria in winter, but enjoys similar temperatures in the summer. Órgiva does, however, benefit from the gentle breeze which develops around midday during the height of summer. The area also has less rainfall than the Costa del Sol: the further East you travel from Malaga, the drier it becomes.
